Last updated 7 August 2026. This page is short because there is little to disclose: sanesplit is a static website with no accounts, no database and no analytics.
Who operates this site

What we collect: nothing
sanesplit does not ask for, receive or store any personal data. There is no sign-up, no cookie, no tracking pixel, no analytics script and no form that submits anywhere. The names and amounts you type are processed by JavaScript in your own browser and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
Local storage on your device
Your splits are saved in your browser's localStorage so they survive a page reload.
This data lives only on your device and is under your control. Clearing your browser's site data for
sanesplit.com deletes it permanently. Storage used this way is strictly functional and requires no
consent banner under the ePrivacy rules. The app itself is also cached on your device so it works
offline; that cache contains only the app's own files.
Share links
When you use Share link, the split's data is encoded into the link itself, in the part after the
#, which browsers do not send to web servers. The link travels through whatever channel
you choose to send it. Treat it like the message it is; we never see it.
Server logs
Like virtually every website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) keeps standard technical server logs (IP address, requested file, timestamp) for security and operations. We do not use these logs to identify visitors. No log data can be combined with anything you type into the tools, because that data never reaches a server in the first place.

There are no affiliate or partner links on this site today. If one is ever added, it will be visibly labelled at the link, use a plain tagged URL, and this page will be updated the same day. Outbound links lead to third-party sites with their own privacy policies; no tracking script is ever loaded on our page.

The split methods it offers (equal, shares, percent, exact, and the rent methods) are calculation options, not recommendations; which one is fair is your group's decision. You are responsible for verifying results before acting on them. We may change or discontinue the service at any time. Liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
